PET诊断准备
在剑桥通用英语诊断中，KET、PET是目前小孩子参加得较多的英语等级诊断。一方面这类诊断注重考察孩子在 真实生活场景中使用英语的能力，能清楚地检查孩子的英语水平。另外，通过准备，能锻炼孩子的口语表达、逻辑思维和语言运用等方面的能力，为孩子 入学、出国留学打好基础。

诊断改革中口语部分的变化
为了能更科学地测评孩子的英语水平，KET和PET诊断于今年1月起开始改革。不仅诊断的题型和内容会更新，而且还了口语考察的灵活性，对于考生的英语运用能力要求更高。
诊断改革后考生和机构面临的问题
改革后的KET、PET诊断，也要求考生能够用英语表达自己的观点与情绪。这对于习惯于以过去的方式诊断的孩子来说，也将面临诸多挑战。如：口语不纯正;主题词汇和专项句型累积不足;逻辑思维、批判思维性思维缺失，无法完整表达观点;不具备双语思维，互动交际能力不够等。为了补足这些部分，孩子需要进行技巧的点拨和大量的训练。
但对于部分机构来说，很难开设专门针对KET、PET的口语训练班，只能在KET、PET的整体训练中分出一部分课时来进行口语部分的训练。而且受到课时及班级人数所限，每个孩子 锻炼口语的机会较少，更别提在训练中为孩子提供 真实的口语诊断环境了。
出现这类的原因主要有以下几点：1、在KET、PET诊断中，阅读和写作占总分数的50%，听力和口语各占25%。而且口语相较其他技能而言， 很难在短时间内获得明显的效果。2、出于师资和坪效考虑，机构普遍只能进行 班级式教学，10~30个孩子一起上课，水平不一， 针对性不高。3、由于缺少优秀外教，听说读写均由 中教来培训，很难保证语言输出的准确性。4、缺乏相应的 评价手段。
