　　4.persuade vt.说服;劝说

　　Don't let yourself be persuaded into buying things you don't really want.

　　不要听信别人的劝说去买你并不真正想要的东西。

　　I persuaded him not to smoke again.=I persuaded him out of smoking.我说服他不再吸烟了。

　　注意：persuade表示“说服”，强调说服的结果;advise表示“劝说，建议”，对方不一定接受，强调动作。“劝说但不一定有效果”应表述为：advise sb to do sth 或try to persuade sb to do sth。

　　He graduated from Oxford in the class of 1978.

　　1.ever since 从那以后

　　We've been friends ever since we met at school.

　　ever since从那以后，后接从句或短语，通常与完成时态连用。ever since还可以作副词单独使用，在句中作状语。

　　2.be fond of 喜爱;喜欢

　　He likes pop;he doesn't care for classic music.

　　他喜欢流行歌曲，不喜欢古典音乐。
