　　1.ordinary意为“普通的”、“平凡的”，强调合乎常规、并不特殊。如：

　　in ordinary dress穿便服an ordinary working day一个普通工作日

　　用于out of the ordinary，意为“不平常”、“非凡”。如：

　　This was nothing out of the ordinary.那很平常。

　　Such a long delay is out of the ordinary.耽搁这样长时间是少有的。

　　2.common意为“常见的”、“不足为奇的”，强调出现的次数频繁或范围广泛。如：

　　Is this word in common use?这是常用词吗?

　　It's too common to mention.这是司空见惯的，不值一提。

　　It's a mistake quite common among students.这是一个孩子常犯的错误。

　　注：common还可表示“共同的”、“共有的”。如：

　　It's a common cup.那是一个公用茶杯。

　　Britain and America share a common language.英国和美国共用一种语言。

　　He arrived later than uaual.他到得比平常晚些。
